New Brunswick Crowns Provincial Champions as Championships Return to Fredericton

 

After nearly a decade away, the Lacrosse New Brunswick Provincial Championships made a successful return on June 26-28 in Fredericton, bringing together the province's top young athletes for an exciting weekend of competition. Eighteen teams from across New Brunswick competed in the U11, U13, and U15 divisions, representing Fundy Lacrosse (Saint John), Capital Area Lacrosse Association (Fredericton), Harvey Highlanders, and Codiac Lacrosse (Greater Moncton). The championship weekend celebrated the growth of box lacrosse across the province while showcasing the skill, sportsmanship, and dedication of New Brunswick's next generation of players.

The inaugural championship weekend featured three days of competitive lacrosse, culminating in gold medal games that highlighted the tremendous progress made by athletes and associations throughout the 2026 season. Players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families all played an important role in making the event a memorable success.

U11 Division

The U11 Championship saw Fundy Blue capture the provincial title with an 8-5 victory over CALA 1 in the gold medal game. Fundy's balanced team play and strong defensive effort secured the championship, while Fundy White earned the bronze medal following another impressive tournament performance.

  • 🥉 Bronze - Fundy White

U13 Division

The U13 gold medal game delivered one of the tournament's most exciting matchups as the Harvey Highlanders defeated Fundy 1 by a score of 12-9 to claim the provincial championship. Both teams traded momentum throughout the contest before Harvey pulled away late to secure the title. Fundy 2 rounded out the podium with a bronze medal finish.

U15 Division

The U15 Championship featured another highly competitive final, with Fundy 2 defeating the Harvey Highlanders 6-4 to earn the provincial title. A disciplined defensive effort and timely scoring proved to be the difference as Fundy closed out a strong championship run. Fundy 1 claimed the bronze medal.

With another successful championship weekend complete, Lacrosse New Brunswick now turns its attention to provincial team programming and an exciting summer ahead, including the opportunity to host the 2026 Founders Cup National Junior B Championship in Saint John later this season.
